Description

Victorian Yellow Sapphire, Enamel, Gold Pendant
The pendant features an oval-shaped yellow sapphire measuring 17.00 x 11.00 x 10.10 mm and weighing approximately 14.25 carats, enhanced by round-cut yellow sapphires weighing a total of approximately 1.35 carats, accented by enamel applied to 14k gold. A GIA report # 5182183198, dated March 2, 2017, stating Natural Corundum, Natural Sapphire, Yellow Color, No Indications of Heating, accompanies the oval-shaped yellow sapphire. Gross weight 10.60 grams.

Condition Notes: A forever treasure. Tests as 14k gold. At the time that this stone was certified, it was certified as a brooch which is why there is a gross weight discrepancy. There are visible signs of modifications to the reverse (from brooch to pendant) and there is some loss to the enamel. The sapphires have some nicks and/or abrasions. Circa 1880.
