Overall Condition: Very Good
Condition Notes: From the remote Himalayan workings of Kashmir, active only briefly in gemological history, this 12.68 x 9.79 x 8.98 mm Kashmir sapphire stands as the unmistakable focal point of the design. Visual characteristics include vivid blue brush stroke style color zoning, prismatic crystal inclusions, and a gentle violet undertone that shifts with movement and lighting type. The cut reflects an earlier fashion, distinguished by a charismatic large culet and a slightly off center pavilion and culet alignment. The shank is unmarked but has been verified as primarily platinum with minor palladium content.
Surrounding diamonds display consistently high color and clarity, with most remaining in very good condition under magnification, one marquise diamond shows a chipped culet. The shank retains sufficient metal for careful reworking, though sizing should be approached conservatively due to the top heavy construction. A central knife edge detail along the exterior of the shank may prove difficult to replicate should resizing be required.
