Overall Condition: Very Good
Condition Notes: Rising from the formidable heights of Kashmir’s Zanskar range, Kashmir sapphires were historically recovered from high mountain scree and steep slopes exceeding 14,000 feet in elevation. At such oxygen depleted altitudes, access was limited and often dependent on highly experienced locals. Their enduring reputation rests not only on the severity of the terrain from which they emerged, but on the unmistakable cornflower blue and velvety bloom that define the finest examples.
This Kashmiri stone presents royal blue in a particularly pure expression, with AGL denoting this example as Classic™ Kashmir, and GIA including a specific comment acknowledging its notable color. It measures 12.02 x 9.78 x 5.86 mm. Overall condition is fine. Slight movement is observed at the center due to reduced prong contact and would benefit from professional tightening. Trapezoid side diamonds display clean clarity and are estimated to weigh approximately 0.50 carat each. Sizing beads are present within the shank, and the stated ring size is approximate, based on an inner diameter of 17.00 mm. A serial style number, 1546, appears internally and represents the only visible marking; the alloy has been verified as platinum through XRF analysis.
