    The ring features an oval-shaped Padparadscha sapphire measuring 12.65 x 10.73 x 5.51 mm and weighing 6.43 carats, enhanced by oval-shaped diamonds weighing a total of approximately 1.60 carats, set in platinum and 18k gold, maker's mark for Oscar Heyman Bros. An AGL Laboratory report # CS 50253, dated June 19, 2012, stating Padparadscha Sapphire, Ceylon Origin, No Heat Enhancement, No Clarity Enhancement, accompanies the sapphire. Gross weight 8.01 grams.

    Padparadscha sapphires are very rare and highly valued. It is a pinkish-orange variety of corundum originally mined in Sri Lanka. The name derives from the Sinhalese word for lotus blossom. The rarest of all padparadschas is the totally natural variety, with no sign of treatment.
