Condition Notes: Presented here is a highly unusual octagonal shaped ruby measuring approximately 8.90 x 5.75 x 3.80 mm. Elongated cuts such as emerald and octagonal forms typically require relatively clean starting rough to preserve crisp facet junctions, this example presents well, with clarity that supports the cut and only minor, low relief inclusions that do not detract from its overall appearance. One calibre cut ruby within the halo exhibits a small corner chip. The weights for the center ruby, accent rubies, and diamonds are stamped within the ring shank.
