Condition Notes: A timeless three-stone ring, elegant in its simplicity, offers an enduring allure, particularly when exquisitely crafted by Van Cleef & Arpels in New York. The essence of American glamour is truly limitless. Wear this exceptional piece with pride and delight, celebrating its refined beauty.
This distinguished Van Cleef & Arpels ring is quite simply a timeless beauty. The ring shank bears the clear hallmark of "Van Cleef & Arpels" alongside the serial number N.Y 35806. The center prongs are beginning to show signs of thinning, with one prong displaying a fractured area where it transitions to the basket. An additional hairline fracture is forming just below one of the side tapered baguettes. The basket itself has been slightly notched from adjacent rings worn by the previous owner. The new owner of this illustrious piece will benefit from basic maintenance to the addressed areas by a jeweler to ensure the diamond remains securely set for years to come.
Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian jeweler Alfred Van Cleef opened his salon in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Julien and Charles Arpels, in 1906. The company quickly earned a reputation for using only the highest-quality colored gemstones. Their timeless designs employed elegant curves and clean, fluid lines, capturing the essence of beauty in motion. In 1930, the firm patented the first minaudiere, a purse-like compartmentalized vanity case. In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels introduced "invisible setting" or "mystery setting." This innovative technique took the market by storm. The firm continues under the umbrella of the Richemont Group. Avg Color: G-H-I
