The opal displays a predominantly blue and green play of color with visible areas of matrix/ironstone, characteristic of natural boulder opal. The textured, wood-like shank has been stamped for 24k/18k but testing reveals a primarily 18k alloy.
Designed by Los Angeles–based jeweler Victor Velyan, the ring reflects his bold, sculptural style and his signature patina technique. Drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations and nature, Velyan’s work is regarded as both collectible and wearable art.
