Lucida™: The Lucida™ diamond cut, introduced by Tiffany & Co. in 1999, is the result of decades of development by the famed company. In this elegant cut, elements of the Asscher and antique cushion-cuts were melded into what is considered a more contemporary diamond cut. What, then, separates the Lucida™ from its contemporaries? Its principal features are a modified square cut with truncated corners, a high step-cut crown, a small table and brilliant faceted pavilion - making for fifty total facets in the Lucida™ cut. Retailed exclusively through Tiffany & Co., the Lucida™ requires a special setting designed specifically for the diamond and based on the nature of its cut. This specialty cut diamond is marketed to the contemporary wedding client in the form of solitaire and three-stone rings.
