Certified Gems:
Gem: 1
Lab: AIGS
Certification #: GF24010211
Carat: 1.08
Shape: Oval
Origin: Burma (Myanmar)
Treatment: No Indications of Heating
Type: Ruby
Overall Condition: Good
Condition Notes: We are excited to offer a rare unheated Mong Hsu ruby, a gem seldom seen on the market. Mong Hsu, a well-known locality in Burma, typically produces rubies that exhibit blue color zoning. This zoning results from the incorporation of iron and/or titanium impurities during the crystals growth process. While this blue zoning is often considered undesirable and is usually removed through heat treatment, this particular ruby is a remarkable exception. It boasts a striking blood red color and measures 6.08 x 5.37 x 3.93 mm. The famous blue zoning is only visible under magnification, appearing in scattered streaks rather than as a concentrated core. This piece offers a unique opportunity for discerning gem collectors and those who appreciate rare and natural beauty with a story! A eye visible cavity is present to the pavilion.
