Condition Notes: Conch pearls, derived from the marine gastropod mollusk known as the Queen Conch (Aliger Gigas), are among the rarest and most unique pearls in the world. These exquisite gems are non-nacreous, meaning they lack the iridescent layer of nacre that characterizes most other pearls. Instead, they are composed primarily of calcium carbonate and conchiolin, which in turn, imparts their unique flame-like pattern and porcelain-like luster. Conch pearls are extraordinarily rare, it is said they form naturally only once in every few thousand conchs. Unlike other pearls, conch pearls cannot be cultured or farmed. This inability to control production significantly contributes to their scarcity and high value, making this offering an exciting opportunity for discerning pearl collectors.
