Overall Condition: Good
Condition Notes: Large rubies from Madagascar are significant discoveries in the gemstone world. First found in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Madagascar quickly became an important ruby source, with major deposits in Andilamena and Vatomandry. This exotic ruby is notably large for the locality of Madagascar and exhibits a deep red coloration. Under magnification and at the right angles, inclusions consistent with a lack of heat treatment become apparent, confirming the GRS classification of unheated. This example also features surface-reaching inclusions, with the most notable ones confined to the pavilion and culet area.
