Condition Notes: From the gemologically rich soils of Sri Lanka, this loose 9.12 carat unheated Ceylon sapphire originates from a region whose deposits have been documented for centuries. In face up view, the stone displays a lively, crackling light return, with primary inclusions consisting of intact rutile silk and a single low relief prismatic crystal. Modest bruises along the pavilion mains and a small crystal cavity associated with the manufacturing process are present, yet remain minor in the context of the sapphire’s overall presentation.
