Condition Report*: Metals:
Gold

Overall Condition: Good
Condition Notes: A true spark in horological history, the Hamilton Electric Van Horn was among the first electric wristwatches ever produced, debuting in 1957 and named in honor of John Van Horn, the engineer who helped pioneer Hamilton's electric movement. Beneath its streamlined modern exterior beats the innovative caliber 500 electric movement, a post-war marvel of American engineering that marked a new era in timekeeping. This particular example is paired with a black leather strap stamped 'Hamilton,' showing natural and moderate wear that reflects its vintage charm. The caseback and crystal both display signs of moderate wear consistent with age and use. Adding personal touch, the 14k gold caseback is engraved with the following inscription: Fred R. Tuerk, Twenty Years Service, S.A.C., Sept. 19, 1940–1980.
Hamilton: Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The company made their name by synchronizing timing to prevent and reduce accidents in the early days of the American railroad. Hamilton took to the skies in 1918 helping to keep the US Airmail Service on time, and has since been synonymous with the world of aviation. First starring on the silver screen in 1932, Hamilton watches have appeared in over 450 major feature films. Hamilton has applied Swiss precision and American spirit to create the innovative and renowned company they are today.
