Judith Leiber Full Bead Brown & Tan Crystal See No Evil Monkey Minaudiere Evening Bag

This bag from Judith Leiber is one of her finest, and most complex figural creations. This particular monkey's position is rife with symbolism. His two feet cover his ears, blocking evil from being heard, one arm covers his mouth block evil from being spoken, and one arm covers his eyes, blocking evil from being seen. Though, anyone who has encountered monkeys can attest, this little guy is rather mischievous. He has allowed his left eyes to peek through the fingers of his hand. Wide eyed, he gazes upon all of the evil in this world, content to watch from within the supposed protection of his other limbs. Atop his head rests a gold ball, which, when pushed, opens the monkey to reveal a gold leather lined interior holding the optional chain shoulder strap. This monkey comes with a dustbag, coin pouch, mirror and comb.

This bag is in Excellent Condition. While the bag does have some very faint surface scratching to the gold metal, all of the crystals are still firmly in place, unmoved by the evil it is hiding from.
