Louis Vuitton Red Le Groom Dome Figurine
    Excellent Condition
    3.25" Width x 4.5" Height x 3.25" Depth
The Louis Vuitton groom first appeared in a 1921 advertisement with the evocative slogan, "Show me your luggage, I'll tell you who you are". The history of the groom is part of the history of Louis Vuitton; it is woven into the history of travel and luxurious hotels, the preferred holiday site for frequent travelers, friends, and customers of Louis Vuitton. The groom is carrying a Steamer Bag. Created in 1901 under the name "Inviolable" ("protects your privacy"), this is a back-up bag, originally an indispensable Steamer Bag for travelers on cruise holidays. In the early 20th century, transatlantic cruises on very luxurious ships with well-appointed cabins truly came into fashion. Whatever the destination, these cruises lasted several days, or weeks. Folded at the start of he crossing, carefully stowed in the bottom of the closet of the Wardrobe Trunk, the Steamer Bag could unfold to be hung by its leather handle on the cabin door to store dirty laundry generated over the course of the trip. It thus prevented placing worn clothes into the trunk alongside clean clothes. A symbol of ocean voyages, the Steamer Bag quickly became an iconic item, among the most elegant travel bags made by Louis Vuitton. It was first produced in the classic monogram canvas in 1959. It is one of these very bags that the groom is carrying with such vim and vigor.

This figurine is in Excellent Condition. There is some scratching throughout the exterior. This figurine includes a Louis Vuitton box and information card.
