    Hunt of a Lifetime
Benefitting the Dallas Museum of Art
In a nod to the spirit of the Dallas Art Ball, here is your opportunity to own a museum-quality example of a truly unique rifle. This completely customized Norsman take-down Mauser sporter is chambered in the venerable 7x57 and fitted with an English walnut Mannlicher-style stock of a quality rarely found. While the aesthetics of this rifle were certainly intended to impress the most discerning gun collector, the take-down system provides a functionality that is meant to convenience the true adventurer who pursues game throughout the world.

The 7x57mm Mauser is one of the most storied cartridges of all time and is widely known as the "ballistician's delight" for its celebrated characteristics in flight and terminal performance on game. Today, it is a favorite among the professional hunters in African countries who are limited to the ownership of just one or two rifles due to restrictive government regulations. In short, these riflemen know the flat-flying, moderate-recoiling cartridge can effectively handle game from the slightest of antelope to the largest a hunter could ever face. W.D.M. Bell, one of the most prolific ivory hunters of his day, used it almost exclusively. Here in America, it would be hard to argue that there is a cartridge better suited for whitetail when using a 140 grain bullet. High quality factory loads are available from most major manufacturers including Federal, Hornady, Nosler and Remington.

Rifle details include Waffenbrik Mauser Action with custom bolt handle; double set triggers; case-colored side-swing Model 70 style safety and cocking piece; Swarovski Optik 3-10 x 42mm scope; case-colored quick-detach scope mounts and rings; iron sights with hooded front and 2-folding blade rear; skeleton steel buttplate and grip cap; case-colored steel Schnabel cap; 22" medium contour barrel; compact take-down case; gunmaker is A. Dees Hanson of Havre, Montana.

For three hunters and three non-hunting guests, a three day South Texas wild game hunt for whitetail and other indigenous species on Jack Brittingham's famed Rancho Encantado. Hunt includes professional guides and consists of one Gold and two Silver class whitetail, as well as European wild boar, Javelina, bobcats and coyotes. Any game taken will be prepared for shipment to your taxidermist and all game meat will be processed as well.

Your group will stay at the all-inclusive 7,000 square ft. lodge which provides excellent accommodations and meals. Guests will enjoy wild game prepared to perfection with wine pairings.

    Value: $33,000

Restrictions: Hunt: Certificate valid for a total of six people: three hunters and three non-hunting guests. This hunt will take place between October 2014 and January 2015.

Winner will be invoiced by the Dallas Museum of Art. All payments should be directed to the DMA.
