The first quality movements had 16-2- jewels. Four plate jewels and the pallet fork jewel were set in gold screwed down "chatons". The balance staff had a diamond endstone. Only gold (and sometimes platinum) screws were used on the balance. The balance bridges were engraved and the index had a swan's neck micrometric adjustment spring.
