    Cartier, Prism Mystery Clock, Silver Plated And Blue Jasper, Circa 1990's
    Case: 3 1/2 inches wide, 3 inches deep, 4 inches high, silver plate, 20 microns, ribbed silver plated sides, Art Deco motif accents with blue jasper panels and base trim, 91180478
    Dial: white with blue Arabic numerals and radial indexes, the dial is concealed in the base, blue baton hands
    Movement: quartz, 11 jewels, inner quartz crystal prisms and mirrors
    Signed: Cartier on the case, dial and movement

    This ingenious mechanism was first developed and patented by Gaston Cusin, who was inspired to create this design by the way in which periscopes operate. The quartz crystal prisms and mirrors allow the dial, which is concealed in the base, to become visible, but only from a certain angle. This timepiece is accompanied by its original fitted box.
