Hamilton Koehler Clock Prototype Of The First Electric Movement Design, Serial #3 of 6 MadeCase: Bakelite and nickel Art Deco case, base measures 5 x 3 inches, with presentation plaque to a former Hamilton employee, clock case rotates 360 degrees
Dial: 2 inch diameter dial, silver, applied golden baton and circle indexes, golden Dauphine hands
Movement: F. Koehler patent, large coils supply power to the electro-magnetically driven balance wheel which drives the gear train
Note: From the René Rondeau collection this rare clock is serial number 3 of the 6 pieces made. The handsome Bakelite Art Deco case was designed and patented by a Hamilton engineer, Charles W. Sheldon. Three of the six Koehler prototypes were cased in this manner. An original wooden travel box accompanies this clock.
