Description

Hamilton Koehler Experimental Model IX Clock, One Of Two Finished Clocks
    Case: metal, aluminum battery compartment
Dial: black photographic paper, white Roman numerals and minute marks, metal baton and circle hands
    Movement: experimental Model IX

Note: The movement of the Experimental Model IX was not as intricate as Koehler's first prototype, but it was far more refined than the eventual production model. Only six were built, four made as movements only for lab tests. The two complete clocks were retained by the inventor Fred Koehler and the present lot by John Van Horn. Featured on page 232 of "The Watch of the Future", René Rondeau acquired this clock from John Van Horn's widow in 1989.
