The revolutionary Cyclos day/night model was created by John Christoph Ermel and made it's debut at the 2001 Basel World Show. It was awarded "Watch of the Year" in 2004 by the World Wristwatch organization of Japan. The hour hand of this watch follows a so-called Pascal's spiral and with the ingenious dual phase module the hour hand "floats" becoming longer when indicating the day hours and short in the night hours
