This timepiece is among those watch collectors refer to as "The Dirty Dozen," signifying the Swiss manufacturers that supplied watches to the British Ministry of Defense during World War II. All were built according to strict standards, with Broad Arrow dials and cases stamped WWW, for Watch, Wrist, and Waterproof. This example includes those letters, and both its military and civil serial numbers, on both sides of the case back, and is highly collectible.
