    Harvey & Co. Rare Patent Table Alarm Base With Gold Lever Fusee, circa 1850
    Case: 52 mm, four body, 18k English hallmarks, gold hinged cuvette, engine turned back cover with blank central crest within a circle belt frame
    Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, gold spade hands, subsidiary seconds, blue steel central alarm pointer which can be adjusted from a gold cap on the pendant
    Movement: full jeweled gilt full plate, diamond end stone, three arm solid steel balance, key wind and set
    Signed: movement is unsigned, alarm base and the original box are signed Harvey & Co. Patent

    Note: The beautifully made gilt base measures 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches, The front panel is centered by a gilt coat of arms and crest with the signature "Harvey & Co. Patent". The interior of the base holds a large steel bell. At the bottom there is a winding disc that powers the hidden alarm hammer. When the watch hands reach the alarm pointer on the dial a steel pin which is located on the watch case rim shoots out and the pin pushes a brass panel in the table base which in turn trips the bell sounding alarm. This unique lot also includes the original signed leather and wood box.
