In 1997, Omega held an event in Grand Central Park to announce their new Ambassador: Newman/Haas Racing driver Michael Andretti. To commemorate this relationship, Omega launched a Limited Edition CART Speedmaster Automatic with a lacquer blue dial, and CART logo.

At the end of that racing season in 1997, Paul Newman placed a personal order of the CART edition Speedmaster, directly with Omega, to present as Christmas gifts for the Newman/Haas race team.

This particular timepiece was presented to Bill Mann, a veteran body engineer for Newman/Haas race team since its creation 14 years prior. Mr. Mann never wore his gift from Paul Newman, and kept all packaging and documentation, including the Christmas Card that accompanied the timepiece.

Coming from the collection of a private collector in the USA, this timepiece has been kept in the same condition as it was presented to Bill Man in December 1997.
