Universal Geneve Rare Bomber's Timer For Reale Aeronautica Italiana, circa 1939
Case: chrome on brass, 53 mm, hinged back, hinged lugs for arm or leg strap, rotating bezel with red triangular pointer
Dial: black, 5 to 60 unit marks, partial signature of "A. Cairelli, Roma", white timer hand
Movement: gilt 3/4 plate, 10 jewels, lever escapement, non-magnetic white alloy hairspring, index regulator
Signed: Universal Geneve on the case and movement, A. Cairelli Roma on the dial

Note: Military bomb timers are rarely seen. The center sweep hand makes 2 1/2 revolutions per minute and is activated by a single depression of the thumb piece over the crown. The hand moves clockwise. When the countdown begins the crown is pushed twice causing the sweep hand to retrogress and move back counterclockwise to zero which is the bomb deployment time. A push piece at one stops the hand and the crown returns it to zero.
