Description

Waltham 23 Jewel Gold Premier Maximus, circa 1909
Case: four body, 14k gold, plain hinged back, gold dust cover signed Waltham 23 Jewels Premier Maximus, dust cover numbered 17000181, 16 size, 52 mm, Jurgensen lips
Dial: enamel, double sunk, Arabic numerals, blue spade hands, sub seconds at six, up/down indicator below twelve, signed Waltham Premier Maximus
Movement: No. 17000183, 23 jewels, adjusted six positions, gold train, gold jewel settings, diamond end caps on the balance, double roller, micrometric regulator, circular damaskeening
Signed: Waltham Premier Maximus, with fitted wooden box

Note: The printed catalog description states that the number on the dust cover and movement match. They are in fact two numbers apart. The error is corrected here and will be announced in the errata at the live auction. The case and movement here are definitely original to each other. Detailed research by American watch scholars support the fact that none, or possibly only one of the Premier Maximus models in existence, have matching numbers.
