    Case: outer 49 mm gilt case with shagreen and gilt pique decoration, inner Pinchbeck case with piercing's and an engraved mask
    Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, black minute dots, open gold diamond form hands
    Movement: No. 1403, gilt full plate, pierced and engraved broad footed balance cock with diamond endstone, tapered cylindrical pillars, silver disc regulator, steel screws with rounded tops, lever near seven to switch from sounding on bell to a toc mode

    Note: Christopher Pinchbeck and his son Christopher were both celebrated early 18th century English makers. The elder invented a zinc and copper alloy that resembled gold which is called "Pinchbeck". The present lot is a very fine example of their watchmaking skills and the use of the "Pinchbeck" metal.
