    Case: 18k yellow gold, four body, engine turned covers, 54 mm
    Dial: enamel, black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, blue spade hands
    Movement: gilt full plate, No. 4427, 15 jewels, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensated balance, blued plate screws
    Signed: John Leslie London, gross weight 139.4 grams

    Note: The gold fixed inner dust lid is engraved "Presented by the Government of Canada to Captain Ama. C. Sears, Master of the Barque "Smyrniote" of Boston, United States of America, in recognition of his humane exertions in the rescue of the Crew of the Wrecked Ship "Jacob V. Troop" of St. John N.B. 21st March 1876"
