    Case: two body consular case, gold with blue, white and turquoise enamel on the edge and bezel, large diamond set side piece, 44 mm, back set with blue enamel border, diamonds surround a central porcelain depicting three cherubs riding a lamb, gold pulse button on the bezel between seven and eight
    Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, outer five minute numbers, diamond set silver hands
    Movement: No. 2352, deep full plate gilt verge movement, pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, steel three arm flat balance with blue steel spiral spring, turned baluster pillars, silver regulator with blue steel indicator
    Signed: movement is signed Julien LeRoy, Paris, case with hallmarks and IM makers mark

    Note: Julien Le Roy is a highly celebrated maker who raised the status of French watchmaking by the perfection of his work and design. He introduced thin repeating watches by omitting the bell and allowing hammers to strike on the case. Le Roy also gained a great reputation for his turret clocks which had a horizontal arrangement of parts and sophisticated pendulum clocks. The watch presented here is an exceptional representation of his horological superiority.
