    Case: four body, 53 mm, plain and smooth, gold cuvette, offset hinges, 18k yellow gold
    Dial: white enamel, radial Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, black minute track, sunk 30 hour wind indicator at twelve, blued steel spade hands
    Movement: No. 15749, gilt, free sprung bi-metallic compensated balance with diamond end stone, ruby cap jewels on the lateral pallet and escape wheel pivots, jeweled barrel arbor, reverse fusee, blued plate screws, pin set on the rim
    Signed: Karl Zimmerman, Liverpool, gross weight is 138.6 grams

    Note: Karl Zimmerman was a renown chronometer frame and train maker who supplied Kullberg and other chronometer makers. The vast majority of keyless free sprung fusee watches were made in Clerkenwell. It is unusual to find a sophisticated Liverpool example such as the lot offered here.
