Description

    Olof Ljungdahl, Stockholm, Unusual Swedish Made Verge Fusee, No. 78, circa 1770
    Case: silver, two body, plain, 60 mm
    Dial: enamel, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track and five minute numerals, gold hands
    Movement: No. 78, gilt full plate, flared cylindrical pillars, large 29 mm pierced and engraved two footed balance cock with four crowns, three arm flat brass balance wheel, crescent shaped steel regulator to a index marked with arrows on the plate, ruby end stone in a steel cap

    Note: Olof Ljungdahl was an excellent watchmaker who in 117 received a title of a watchmaker for the city of Stockholm. He enjoyed the position until 1780 when he most likely died for from this date the workshop was run by his wife Christina. Six journeymen worked in the large workshop. His clocks and watches are rare. A gilt wall clock by Ljungdahl was hanging in the Stockholm Police Station in 1947.
