    Movement: No. 47126, frosted gilt bridge, 19 lignes, straight line lever escapement, counter poised pallet, bi-metallic compensated balance, 24 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, steel hammers striking on gongs
    Signed: cuvette is signed " I. Marenzeller Vienne, No. 47126 Patek Philippe & Co. Geneve", case lid with PPC hallmark

    Note: This early repeater is accompanied by the Extract from the Archives that states the date of manufacture as 1871 and date of sale as March 27th, 1873. Ignaz Marenzeller (1797-1877) was one of the finest Viennese clock makers, a name that is synonymous with the best of the Vienna regulators. It is very likely that the present lot was his personal watch.
