Note: This watch features the rare and desirable tandem wound two train movement, one for the going and one for the repeat work. Traditionally, the repeating mechanism is activated by pushing a slide or button on the case rim, thus winding and releasing a small mainspring that powers the repeater. The train of a trip repeater is wound in conjunction with the going train and released through a button in the crown. The advantages of this system are the enhanced dust resistance and clean lines of the watch case. Also, the larger spring for the repeat mechanism permits the owner to activate the repeat train many times from only one winding. These rare movements were produced between 1899 and 1912 and research indicates that only 54 "Trip-Train" repeaters have been identified in the market. The majority were sold to the American market and many bear the retailer's name on the dial.
