    Swiss Gold Minute Repeater with Chronograph & Elapsed Time Dial on the Cuvette, circa 1885
    Case: 55 mm, 18k hunters case, engine turned lids, slide repeat bar on the rim, gold setting pusher, chrono activated from a small push piece at bezel edge near six o'clock, inner gold cuvette engraved with Roman chapters centered by gold and blue spade hour and minute hands which connect to a 14 mm nickel disc on the inside of the cuvette, the disc contains a cannon pinion, hour wheel and minute wheel
    Dial: enamel, Breguet moon hands, Roman hour chapters, outer 1/5th seconds marks and minute track, subsidiary seconds
    Movement: nickel bridge, jeweled to the hammers, straight line lever escapement, bimetallic compensated balance with Breguet spring, 36 jewels, gold train gears, wolfs tooth winding
    Signed: name engraved on cuvette, inner back lid engraved Pateck Geneve

    *Note: The cuvette dial and hands could be used to indicate an appointment time but more likely it was designed as an early type manual minute and hour register. Prior to activating the chronograph hand the user would set the back dial hands to the current time. Then, after stopping the chronograph sweep the elapsed time could be calculated.
