Rolex, Ref. 1665, Sea-Dweller "Great White", circa 1979Case: 40 mm, stainless steel, three body, screw down crown, case back signed "Rolex patent Oyster Gas escape valve" black bi-directional bezel, No. 5640790
Dial: Matte black, luminous indexes, date aperture at three, luminous steel skeleton hands
Movement: Rolex Cal. 1570, rhodium finish, 26 jewels, adjusted to five positions and temperature, monometallic balance, shock absorber
Band: Rolex signed Oyster # 93150, Endlink #585, Applied solid gold diver's helmet medal on the clasp (See below essay)

The consignor of this Rolex Ref: 1665, is the original owner who purchased it on 6/22/79 from Little Switzerland Jewelers, St Thomas Virgin Islands. The solid gold diver helmet medallion, soldered on clasp, was presented to him, and those who had just completed Navy Seal training during 1970's. It was a practice for graduates to have these soldered onto their dive watch clasp as presented here. This timepiece is accompanied by its original internal box, Certificate, and instruction booklet.
