Ls. Duchene & Fils Gold Musical Quarter Hour Repeater, circa 1820Case: 18k gold empire case, four body, gilt cuvette, back is engine turned with a ribbon initial circle at center, coin edge to the rim, slide lever on the rim to lock out the push pendant, music sound/silence lever protrudes from the cuvette edge, 56 mm
Dial: gold engine turned center, Arabic numerals on raised white enamel circles separated by classical engraved leaves, white and black enameled minute track
Movement: gilt full plate, three arm steel balance with polished steel end cap, free standing barrels for the time and music, cylinder escapement, hammers strike on inner case gong rods, music activates on the passing of the hours
