Case: plain inner case, 22k gold, 54 mm outer case with classical Repousse scene, edges and bezels with scallops, scrolls and flowers
Dial: white enamel, Roman hour numerals, black minute track, black five minute numbers, blue steel beetle and poker hands
Movement: gilt full plate, very ornate large pierced pillars, pierced and engraved balance cock with fleur-de-lis and ears, rounded top blue steel screws, verge and chain, flat three arm steel balance wheel
Signed: movement is signed Sam. Watson London

Note: This renown maker was called "Mathematician in Ordinary to His Majesty". G.H. Baillie lists him as maker of an astrological clock for Isaac Newton and another elaborate astrological calendar clock in the Windsor Castle made for Charles II.
