Thomas Earnshaw Very Fine & Rare One Day Marine Chronometer No. 453, circa 1800Case: brass bowl with threaded glazed bezel, gimbaled in 7 x 6 x 6 inch box with double top, brass handles, corner plate with key, front key lock
Dial: silvered, radial Roman numerals, blued steel baton hands, subsidiary seconds with broad arrow mark, black minute track
Movement: 60 mm, brass full plate, No. 453, Earnshaw spring detent escapement, turned pillars, fusee and chain, steel free sprung helical hairspring with ten turns, bi-metallic balance with two circular weights and two screws, escapement jeweled, balance with diamond endstone, broad arrow mark near the balance
