Description

A. Lange & Söhne Ref. 403.035 Platinum Datograph Fly Back Chronograph, Full Set, circa 2005
Case: 39 mm, platinum, three body, polished and brushed, transparent case back secure by six screws, No. 143923
Dial: black, Roman chapters and baton indexes, large date apertures, silvered sub dials for the instantaneous thirty minute register and constant seconds, with the interesting "Base 1000 Meter" marking found on early models, luminous alpha hands
Movement: cal. 951.1, manual winding, 40 jewels

Presented with its original boxes, booklets, warranty card and factor service invoice dated 1.03.2023. It is interesting to note this example carries the early "Meter" printing on the dial, a small detail that was replaced with "Meters" after a few short years. With this technical masterpiece, A. Lange & Söhne created a dynamic watch with strong personality. The Datograph is the world's first chronograph based on the classic column-wheel principle featuring a flyback, a precise jumping minute counter, and patented oversized date. The Datograph times events as long as 30 minutes with an accuracy of one-fifth of a second. The flyback function allows the chronograph to be instantaneously reset to zero during an ongoing measurement by simply pressing the lower button.
