    Case: 10k gold filled, 35 mm, two body, stepped bezel, angled lugs, transparent screw down case back
    Dial: silver, applied gold dot markers, lightning bolts passing through the markers, gold Dauphine hands
    Movement: model 500 prototype, hand-made, unfinished train bridge, marked "17 jewels, adj."
    Band: original leather strap and Hamilton plated buckle

    Note: This watch was acquired in 1990 from James Reese of the Hamilton Research & Development team. Reese was a born inventor and he received more patents during his career at Hamilton than any employee in the company's history. In a 1955 report Philip Biemiller said of Reese that "his mechanical skill and ingenuity are incomparable". The present lot is one of 25 prototypes which were assembled for laboratory testing in 1955. It is featured in "The Watch of the Future" on page 41.
