Note: This rare timepiece from the René Rondeau collection is one of only 25 reportedly made. The refined Model 507 calendar movement was introduced in 1956 and 1966. It retained the continuously rotating date ring and spring loaded shutter of the 505C, but to solve the indexing inconsistency the shutter was operated by a cam rather than being linked to the date ring itself. An intermediate stem position was created to allow the date wheel to be advanced separately from the hands. Five prototypes were made in 1966, and production was slated to start in March of 1967. The company's new president, Richard Blakinger, was enthusiastic about the watch but the Committee was not convinced there was a market for it. Fears that a more complicated watch would result in even greater servicing problems and concerns about the thicker, bulky case led to the termination of the project. This timepiece is featured on page 92 of the book "The Watch of the Future".
