Note: The reference 5013 was introduced in 1992 and is one of the most complex wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe with a total of 515 parts. Production ceased in 2011. Its perpetual calendar features a very refined highlight. Depending on the month and leap year cycle, the retrograde date hand automatically jumps back to the first of the month after the 28th, 29th, 30th or 31st day. The fast flyback of the date hand is accomplished with an ingenious spiral spring and a rebound limiter. This mechanism prevents the flyback hand from rebounding forward after it has jumped back to the first day of the month. The ref. 5013 is the first minute repeater with self-winding movement and retrograde date display. The present example features an exquisite, original rare black dial. Also, the rose gold cased 5013 repeaters are considered to have the best tone of all the case variations made.
