Description

Rodania Very Rare "RCAF" Single Button Aviator's Chronograph, No. HB 1523 6W/16
Case: two body, stainless steel, 37 mm, concave lugs, screw down back engraved "RCAF Serial No. HB 1523 6W/16 S, single button at 2
Dial: matte white, guilloche subsidiary dials for the constant seconds and thirty minute register, luminous dot and numeral markers, black Arabic numerals, luminous pointed baton hands, red center seconds
Movement: Venus 175, signed Rodania, rhodium finish with straight line damaskeening, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, micrometric regulator with swan's neck spring, hack feature
Band: period leather strap, steel buckle

Note: The present watch is from a small series of single button chronograph wristwatches supplied to the Royal Canadian Air Force. Fitted with a Venus caliber 175 movement with hack feature, white dial with luminous 6 and 12 numerals, luminous dots to the remaining hours and luminous hands. The single push button at 2 is for the start-stop function of the center seconds and the the return to zero function of the sweep hand and thirty minute register hand.
