Rolex Exceptionally Rare Ref. 6101 With Green Enamel Dial, circa 1951Case: No. 746236, 18k yellow gold, screw back, bezel with reeded pattern and hour bars, original Super-Oyster crown, 34 mm
Dial: translucent emerald green with gold lettering, applied faceted gold rectangle and baton indexes, outer edge with gold dot minute markers, yellow gold Dauphine hands
Movement: perpetual chronometer, straight line lever escapement, rhodium finish, 20 jewels, adjusted to six positions, super balance, self compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator
Band: light brown alligator, plated buckle
Signed: triple signed Rolex, dial is signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Officially Certified Chronometer, lot includes the original box
Note: This watch is extremely rare and collectible. Choice examples of the green enamel dial 6101 are rarely offered for public sale. In addition this watch has the original "Super Oyster" crown which was designed by Rolex to be a waterproof crown which did not need to be screwed down to the case rim. The Super Oyster crown was used for only a very few years and most produced were ultimately replace with the screw down crown versions when they were serviced.
