Case: 40 mm, stainless steel, three body, pointed crown guard, rotating time elapse bezel, inside case back with III.63 date mark, 7 mm screw down Oyster crown, No. 984059
Dial: black gloss dial with gilt script, underline below the "Oyster Perpetual" lettering, signed Swiss at the bottom, luminous indexes, luminous skeleton hands
Movement: Rolex Cal. 1530, self-winding, nickel finish, 26 jewels
Band: original steel riveted band, deployant clasp with 4/63 mark, attached 26 mm round thermometer gauge
Signed: Rolex on the case, dial, movement and clasp

This highly attractive example of the rare black gloss "underline dial" and so-called "Cornino" case, was used by the original owner as his tool watch while diving for lobsters in San Diego Bay. The addition of the thermometer gauge to the band adds to the appeal of this interesting and rare timepiece.

Condition: This timepiece presents in impressive, well-preserved original condition. The inner case back area shows no repair codes, dates or marks. The lume on the hands and hour indexes is evenly toned to a rich, ivory hue. The case and band with some light scratches commensurate to age and use. Movement runs and sets as it should.
