The Rolex Pre-Datejust "Ovettone" represents the blueprint that Rolex would use in their design codes moving forward from its initial launch in 1945. This Ref: 4467, is one of the most well preserved examples newly discovered. Finding this reference with its original finishing, crown, and unblemished fluted bezel is often a challenge as many were used and enjoyed. In addition to those characteristics, what sets this particular example further apart is the near perfect transitional dial. Produced in textured silver matte, with evenly aged and intact luminous radium applied hour marker arrows, and hour dots, accompanied by its original luminous hands. The printed Rolex signature is clean and crisp, as is the very rare transitional "certified chronometer" script, instead of the "chronometer" and "officially certified chronometer" designation more commonly seen. The only blemish to this dial is the faint radium burn that occurred from the watch sitting unused for so many years.
