Rolex, Ultra- Rare Ref. 6429 Stainless Steel Oyster Wristwatch, circa 1969, From The Original Owner
Case: 33 mm, stainless steel, two body, flat screw down case back marked "6426, 1/69", No. 2075561
Dial: black, tritium 3-6-9- Arabic numerals, luminous baton indexes, luminous squared baton hands
Movement: Rolex caliber 1225, manual winding, 17 jewels, shock absorber
Band: leather strap with original silver-plated Rolex buckle
Signed: Rolex Oyster

This very rare timepiece has been consigned by the original owner who purchased the watch from "The Crescent" in Spokane Washington. The timepiece is accompanied by the original guarantee paper which is signed in blue ink "6429F, The Crescent Spokane Washington". The paper has a punched number that does not match this watch, and the punched reference number of 1675 on the paper is crossed out. The Crescent was a small chain of department stores founded in Spokane and was one a subsidiary of Marshall Field & Company. It is likely that the store clerk handling the sale of this watch simply grabbed a Rolex booklet and entered the correct reference number by hand. It is also interesting to note that this timepiece is a unmarked "Commando" which was a model sold by Abercrombie & Fitch during the late 60's 'and early 70's.

Condition: The dial is exceptional and excellent. The case is very good with only a few slight scratches on the case back and a small ding on the upper right lug. The movement is choice and likely only serviced one or twice. Movement runs and sets as it should. Heritage does not guarantee timekeeping accuracy.
